Congressman French Hill Honored with Spirit of Enterprise Award

March 21, 2016

Little Rock, Ark. — Congressman French Hill (AR-2) announced his receipt of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Spirit of Enterprise Award. This award is issued to Members of Congress who support policy and legislation that facilitates the free enterprise system.

Congressman Hill stated: “I am honored to receive this award that reflects my ongoing support of policies and now legislation as a Member of Congress that helps Arkansas and American families start and sustain businesses. Ensuring an environment for economic growth, entrepreneurial activity and job creation is critical to the success of the Second District of Arkansas and the United States.”

In Congress, Congressman Hill has supported legislation facilitating the flow of commerce throughout Arkansas and the United States and he has voted for legislation to make permanent pro-business tax laws that were due to expire.

Congressman Hill will continue to support legislation to reform our broken tax code that is putting Arkansas businesses at a disadvantage globally, to steer regulatory authority from Washington back to the states, and to create a business environment that facilitates the opening of new businesses, the ongoing operation of existing businesses, and new jobs for the Second District of Arkansas.

Congressman French Hill Announces National Federation of Independent Business SAFE Trust Endorsement

March 16, 2016

Little Rock, Ark. — Congressman French Hill (AR-2) issued the following statement upon receiving the endorsement of the NFIB’s SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust for the Second Congressional District of Arkansas:

“I am honored to receive the endorsement from the NFIB, one of the nation’s leading advocacy groups for small business owners. One of my top priorities in Congress is to grow our economy, help spur job creation in the Second District, and protect small businesses by fighting against burdensome regulations, high taxes and initiatives by the White House that hurt small business owners’ ability to grow their companies and create jobs.”

Congressman Hill spent more than two decades creating jobs and building businesses, as a banker in Arkansas. He is a past chairman of the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce and grew his most recent business, Delta Trust, as an idea from the back of a napkin to a flourishing community bank.

Currently, he is a member of the House Financial Services Committee, where his knowledge and expertise in the private sector has given him a strong voice for small business owners for the Second Congressional District of Arkansas.

Congressman Hill will continue to support legislation in Congress that supports pro-growth regulatory policies, creates jobs, and keeps the voice of small businesses in Arkansas heard in Washington. He will continue to fight against the regulatory mandates of faceless bureaucrats in Washington.

Congressman French Hill announces National Rifle Association Endorsement, ‘A’ Rating

February 18, 2016

Little Rock, Ark. — Republican Congressman French Hill (AR-2) issued the following statement upon receiving an ‘A’ rating from the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) for the March 1, 2016 Republican Primary in the 2nd Congressional District of Arkansas:

“I am honored to receive the distinction of an ‘A’ rating from the NRA. Protecting our constitutional right to bear arms is an issue I will continue to strongly fight for in Congress.”

Congressman Hill’s ‘A’ rating is exclusively for a pro-gun legislator who has supported the NRA on key votes and issues. In 2015, Congressman Hill proudly co-sponsored legislation to support and protect Second Amendment rights including H.R. 3516, the Social Security Beneficiary 2nd Amendment Rights Protection Act, H.R. 402, the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act and H.R. 986, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act.

Congressman Hill is an avid hunter and gun rights advocate and has consistently opposed President Obama’s anti-gun Executive Orders and the Obama universal background check system that would criminalize the private transfer of firearms, which, under the Justice Department, is only enforceable through a federal firearms registry. Congressman Hill is a life member of the NRA.

Congressman Hill will continue to work to protect privacy, support Concealed Carry legislation, and oppose Executive Orders that infringe on gun rights.

I have always been a committed and strong advocate for the unborn, and I will continue to carry that message with me wherever I go.”

During the 114th Congress, Congressman Hill supported the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, which would establish a government-wide ban for funding abortions or healthcare plans that cover abortions, along with legislation to block federal funding for Planned Parenthood, the nation’s leading abortion provider. Additionally, he has consistently voted to repeal Obamacare, a law that created a nationwide program funding insurance plans that cover abortions.
